Nightwind is a full service company offering traditional gundog training for 22 years. We also provide training on a daily basis to those folks who live close enough to our two locations to travel to and fro with their dogs. Nightwind is one of the most respected names in the sport of Field Trialing of retrievers having trained such notables as 1994 National Amateur Field Champion Lady Andrel's Nighthawk Lady, and 1997,1999,2000,and 2002 Top Open all Age Retriever Fc/Afc Dust Devils Shoot the Moon. Shooter is also the #2 all time open all age retriever. In 2008 two retrievers were honored to be in the top 10 open retrievers in the United States FC/AFC Jazztimes Hanging Chad who was #5 and FC Jazztimes Empty Wallet who was #4. Having one retriever in the top 10 with the high number of retrievers competing today is difficult, so having 2 was an accomplishment.In our best year we once had 5 of the top 10 retrievers.

In today's hunting environment it is more important than ever for those of us who hunt to make every effort to reduce our loss of wounded and unrecovered game. For the bird hunter, regardless of your particular type, upland or waterfowl or both the answer is as always a well - trained hunting dog. Nightwind training can help you reach this goal. Our lesson plans and training videos can provide all of the knowledge and tools needed for those who prefer to do their own training and our INHOUSE Training can help out those who find their schedule to hectic. Day Training is available at our two training locations depending on time of year and the number of dogs in training. A good old boy once told me you can't train a bird dog without birds. I believe that and you will find we use plenty in our programs.

Located on 200 + acres in tiny Twin Bridges Montana, the main training grounds consist of a running stream, nine ponds and some of the best waterfowl hunting in the state. Our winter training grounds consist of 400+ acres in Morgan Hill California and vary from rolling hills to flat with 15 ponds interspersed. When we get bored with all this, training takes place on a working rice ranch/duck club outside of Marysville California. As you can see we have the grounds, the time, the birds, the know how and the ambition to bring out the best in you and your dog.

Oh, I almost forgot! We also sell a few well - trained Retrievers each year. So check out our FOR SALE section. For the busy guy/gal on the run this is often the best way to go.
